Your Moment of Zen!

Aaaah the beginning of a new school year, when you can see anxiety, stress and excitement all at the same time, in the eyes of children and parents alike... This morning I dropped off Nihaar, my younger son, at school and as I looked around, I noticed mothers who were not in a rush to get anywhere, taking in a leisure minute sitting in the car to check their phones(maybe getting to hold it finally after all of summer maybe?!) or just enjoying the warmth of the sun! How surreal is that moment when you are not responsible for anyone within a few yards away from you!

Above is a funny picture that did the rounds on social media a couple of years ago but still reflects the moment perfectly. I kept thinking of it all summer long, that moment of zen once the kids would be back at school. But then, I miss having the kids around for a spontaneous laugh or a hug, at arm's distance...I guess this is what they mean, when they refer to the dichotomy of motherhood! How do you transition from summer holidays to a new school year? Let me know in the comments below..
