Note to Self

Come January and you see everyone is trying to press the reset button, getting a synopsis of the year past and introspecting on what the year ahead should be like. In lieu of being in that state myself, I chanced upon this video which I thought would benefit anyone and had to do a post.

I stumbled upon this channel when I was searching for some inspirational videos on Interior Design on Youtube and back then it was called The Fab Life when it was hosted by two ladies who made videos designing and decorating popular Youtuber's homes apart from fun DIY projects, etc. I would take a peek, once in a while, to see what they were upto until one day they posted a very emotional video about them parting ways as one of the host was selected for a network show and the other host Mary Elizabeth would be in charge of the channel. Honestly, I did not have high hopes for the future of the channel and thought it would slowly bite the dust. And then, videos started trickling in. Her videos were more personnel with a higher production value while she continues to keep the integrity of what the channel stands for. Just as slowly, I started falling in love with who she is and how she turned the winds in her favor.

In this particular video( I suggest you watch the video first, to find what resonates to you, drawing your own inspiration from it), she talks about 7 Resolutions for the year 2016 but they are such good goals to work towards, not just for this year but every year moving forward. I connected to the energy and positivity of the conversation. I feel like I have been on this journey with her to find herself and I trust she will make everything she set out to do, happen. Below is an abstract of what she spoke about, purely for myself, to get an outline of what I am working towards whenever I feel lost..

Do Good, Look Good, Feel Good

  1. Stop explaining yourself
  2. Be fearless in pursuit of what makes you happy
  3. Make what you want welcome
  4. Trust the journey
  5. Stop complaining
  6. Give yourself a break
  7. Let it go
Hoping you are having an awesome year thus far and in some way this video specifically and this post generally helped you make the transition to a new you.
