Anthropologie -- The Store

I'm a voracious blog reader, I used to subscribe to an insane number of blogs but over the years I sifted through the ones that really work towards putting quality content on their blogs and are consistent with their posts. I like reading blogs because they give you tiny bursts of useful information that lead you into a chain of more information and that way you discover some unknown areas of interest. One such thing that happened to me was when I found this great show called Man Shops Globe. It used to air on Sundance Channel and the theme of the show goes like this ... Keith Johnson is the man who travels around the globe on an international treasure hunt. He finds out-of-the way antique shops, craft fairs, local artists scouting for home furnishing and accessories. He shops for stores like Anthropologie and a bunch of other stores. Here is an interview he did with Design Sponge. You can still find episodes from his shows on Hulu.

It felt like a dream job to travel the world and commission artists. Until then I had never heard of the the store Anthropologie and I had to go check it out. No matter where they are located, the store entices you with their window displays pulling you into their store. Once you are inside it is an eccentric, eclectic, exotic ride! Everything in there is unique, never before seen pieces. Their merchandise range from women's clothing to home furnishings to home accessories. I end up ogling at everything in there but most of the times the pricing is plain unaffordable. I did find some great pieces when they go on sale though. You must visit the nearest store just to take that other worldly journey. Well it is the closest experience you can have to actually going to that part of the world!! While you are at it please subscribe to their catalog too for those lazy afternoons.
